Novatron Fusion Group will feature in a star-studded line up of speakers, including Al Gore and Steve Wozniak, at Scandinavia’s largest tech event – The Tech Arena 2024.

Close to 10,000 delegates will descend on Stockholm for the event running February 22-23 – the first of its kind to be staged in the national football stadium, Friends Arena. Organised by Techarenan with backing from the Swedish Innovation Agency, key themes include the energy transition, innovation, economics, sustainability and global megatrends.

Activity will be spread across four stages for keynotes, panel discussions, startup & scaleup pitches, plus expert seminars. A tech exhibition will also showcase select companies.

Novatron Fusion Group CEO Peter Roos is set to appear in the panel discussion “The Nordics as a Silicon Valley of Sustainability” on the Bright Stage at 10.00am on February 22.

The star-studded line up of speakers also includes former US Vice President, climate activist, and Nobel Prize Winner Al Gore who will discuss climate tech, climate solutions, and sustainability investments. Fellow headliner and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak will chart his early years in Silicon Valley, the future of tech and AI, while NASA Astronaut Jessica U Meir will provide insight on the value of SpaceTech and her experience completing the first-ever all-female spacewalk.

Many of the main Arena Stage sessions will be moderated by Novatron Fusion Group Chief Communications Officer Linda Nyberg.

“As a proud Swedish innovator, and the Nordic’s first fusion energy firm, we are especially looking forward to participating in the Tech Arena 2024,” said Novatron Fusion Group CEO Peter Roos. “Fusion energy has enormous potential to help solve one of the greatest challenges of our time – a safe, just and affordable energy transition. It has been branded as the ‘holy grail’ of clean energy because it is affordable, limitless and unconstrained geographically. At Novatron Fusion Group we are fast accelerating in our quest to deliver the blueprint for fusion power. Our technology was invented, engineered and built here in Sweden, and we are driving knowledge creation to help the Nordics capitalise on one of the largest global industries of the future.”

Sweden is currently ranked as the second most innovative country in the world and one of the top producers of unicorns per capita. The country’s role as a leading innovation nation and a role model for an impact-focused industrial and business sector continues to garner global attention.

Techarenan CEO Omid Ekhlasi said: “Sweden has in the last decades cemented itself as an innovation powerhouse of not only Europe but also the world, giving rise to industry-leading companies through Swedish ingenuity. However, until now, there has never been a tech event in Sweden that has matched this incredible output of innovation and world-class entrepreneurship. We are very excited to welcome the global tech community to Sweden.”

Sweden’s Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Johan Forssell said: “A dynamic environment for research and innovation is key to Sweden’s continued success in international markets. The Government will launch a new strategy for foreign trade, investments, and global competitiveness later this year, with a focus on innovation and research cooperation, among other things. The Tech Arena will offer an excellent forum for increased cooperation and new partnerships, and I look forward to participating.”
